Energy saving bulb, have you switch?

In the luminaire world context, incandescent bulb was a innovative thing during my grandparent's parents era and till today, we can still find it selling off the shelf of some neighbourhood electrical hardware shop. Some countries have already stop using such bulbs. I am still using 1 or 2 of these bulbs in
my home.
As technologies progress with time, more and better new stuff will be introduce. The more commonly used bulb today is the CFL bulb, these are typically energy saving bulb and much more efficient. In terms of Luminous efficacy (lumen/ watt), the CFL bulb are rated better than the incandescent bulb.
In the recent years, came along the LED bulb. These LED bulb uses less wattage than their CFL cousin and at the same time, produce similar or better lighting level. The down side of the LED bulb over CFL bulb and incandescent bulb is the cost though the price of LED bulb came down quite a percentage as compare to the price in 2009.
Picture shown above are the "Generation-one" PL type LED bulb.
I personally have a mixture of the three type of lighting around my home and it is quite a common sight of this "mix n match" lighting around my neighbourhood as well. The effort to go green, save energy and cost is top priority to everyone but can everyone keep up with this costly conversion? Currently, my home has a mixture of the following bulbs. 5% incandescent bulb, 60% CFL bulb and 35% LED bulb, it's an on going conversion process that will be completed soon.
LED bulbs have come in all sorts of designs and specifications to replace the out going conventional bulbs, what will be next after LED bulb? I haven't had a clue on it. Let the rocket scientist in this field bring us more joy in the coming years. The current LED bulb are doing quite well for me and it has quite a fair bit of advantages. It produce much lesser heat, consume very little energy (watt), much longer bulb lifespan, it is a green product ( no mercury content, does not emits UV nor IR), good CRI and it looks good too. The price has also went down quite a bit, this is a plus point for me too.

Millions around the globe are in the process of going green, and using energy efficient lighting is one of the way to conserve energy and preserve our planet. Do your switch to energy saving light bulb, let's go green!
